Dr. Rachel Sheffield
|
From 2016 Rachel Sheffield has been a member of ISTE, International Society Technology Education, writing the new ISTE standards (technology) for students, teachers and pre-service teachers and presenting at the International Conference. She is familiar with a raft of innovative practices and how these can be embedded in classroom practice. In 2017 Rachel was involved in the DREAM project that worked with 135 primary schools in Western Australia helping teachers to develop their innovative practice in the Digital Technologies curricula. Rachel has a National Teaching citation (2016) and four Curtin Teaching awards (individual and teams). She has also had her innovative practice recognised through an International STEM award and Endeavour Fellowship in 2016. Education grants through UNESCO (2017), NARST (2017) and Australian Indonesian Institute (2016) ensured her innovative practice in education has been internationally recognised as she works with pre-service teachers and teachers in Indian and Indonesia. Her distributed leadership approach sees the development of communities of practice cross-faculty which has developed students’ and colleagues capacity as researchers.
